This NFDA Online Course provides practical, creative and meaningful ways for you to meet the needs of the increasing number of families requesting nonreligious funeral services.

After successfully completing this online course, you will be prepared to:

  1. Comfortably work with families requesting nonreligious.
  2. Creatively explore options for planning nonreligious funeral services.
  3. Provide appropriate resources to help families plan nonreligious services.
  4. Educate the community and clergy about the nonreligious service as a funeral option.

Author

JoAnn Baldwin, CFSP, is a licensed funeral director who served as Manager of Professional Development for Aurora Casket Company from 2002 until her retirement in December 2009. Prior to her work with Aurora, JoAnn served as a funeral director for more than a decade and was National Marketing Manager of Doric Burial Vaults.

JoAnn is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and a member of the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practice. She is a published author and poet, a published artist and illustrator, and holds three U.S. patents for a casket, urn, and vault.

In 2010 JoAnn was honored with the NFDA Initiative Award for consistently taking the initiative to improve funeral service care and for her many accomplishments at the local, national and international levels.

Today, JoAnn continues to serve as Professional Development Consultant for Aurora and to serve families as a Certified Funeral Celebrant.
