This online course provides funeral directors with vital information on communicable diseases and infections, some of which are deadly. The course includes information on how funeral directors can create a safer work environment, following required rules and regulations and using the resources currently available to reduce the risk of contracting a communicable disease. Guidelines for protecting themselves, the families they serve, and the public are presented and explained.

James H. Justice
James H. Justice, in addition to being a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 40 years in Florida, is also a qualified Mass Fatality Coordinator. Justice became interested in the funeral profession while in high school when he worked part-time for the local funeral home. In 1968, he joined Royal Bond, Inc., St. Louis, Missouri, where his duties included lecturing, demonstrations, and conducting experimental work involving nonformaldehyde-based embalming chemicals in cooperation with Oral Roberts Medical School.
During his funeral service career, Justice has been active in many civic and professional associations, including the Florida Funeral Directors Association; Independent Funeral Directors of Florida, serving on their continuing education committee; National Funeral Directors Association; and, as a member and past president, the Florida Funeral Supply Sales Association. He has lectured to numerous organizations across the U.S., including Oral Roberts University, South Carolina Funeral Directors Association, Florida Funeral Directors Association, Miami-Dade Junior College, St. Petersburg College, Gupton-Jones College, Order of the Golden Rule, and the Oklahoma Funeral Directors Association.
