This online course presents a multi-faceted program for managing grief through understanding the dynamics of stress. A comprehensive guideline for individual funeral directors to develop personal stress management programs is presented, based on thorough research and tested methods. The course introduces grief theories, presenting an overview of the effects of grief in a practical guideline for funeral directors - to help them help the bereaved.

Timothy J. O'Brien, M.S., is the Director of The Institute for Stress Management & Performance Improvement, in Tallahassee, Florida. He is also a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress and a Life Member of the International Society for Performance Improvement.

He has presented at both FFDA & NFDA National Conventions and has written several articles for their magazines, including the cover story for the January 2010 issue of NFDA's The Director. For 14 years, he wrote a column for Knight Ridder Tribune News Service, and has published more than 400 articles.
